Grove Street Auto Repair - A local Business Inspiring Franklin, MA!
Patrick Weidman is a dedicated business owner with deep roots in Franklin, MA—a legacy that stretches back over 100 years to 1920. His family’s history in the town runs just as deep; Patrick’s father was born and raised in Franklin, where he raised all six of his children. Over the years, Patrick has witnessed many changes in the community, and he remains
profoundly proud to call Franklin home. Patrick’s family has been a cornerstone of his journey. His wife, Amy, and their two children, Sully and Ellie, are a vital part of his life. Both children are now attending UMass Amherst. The importance of family extends to Patrick’s professional life as well; his father and sister, Jean, are actively involved in the family business at their Grove Street Auto location. “Our town always pulls together to help others, whether it’s through charitable organizations or grassroots efforts. It really makes me proud to tell people where I’m from!” Patrick shares.

A BUSINESS ROOTED IN COMMUNITY AND FAMILY
Grove Street Auto Repair is Patrick’s flagship business, embodying a tradition of community connection and family values. Established in 1998, Grove Street Auto Repair provides general auto repair. “Our goal has always been to provide honest, quality, transparent auto repair while focusing on craftsmanship and delivering an excellent customer service experience,” Patrick proudly states. Recognizing the need for a local alternative to European dealerships, the family opened their second location, Advanced European Repair, in January 2024.

Patrick’s entrepreneurial journey has deep family ties. Growing up, his uncle owned a large repair shop in Westborough, MA, which included a taxi service, tow truck operation, auto repair shop, and gas station. Patrick worked there on weekends during college, driving tow trucks and learning how to treat customers like family. Those experiences inspired his dream of owning a repair shop where customers always come first. In 1998, Patrick and his brother, Bob, opened Grove Street Auto Repair, filling a need in the Franklin area for a shop that prioritized honesty and treated customers like family.

WHAT SETS GROVE STREET AUTO REPAIR APART
Grove Street Auto Repair’s commitment to exceptional customer service is woven into its identity, captured perfectly in its motto: “Your Family Depends on Our Family.®” This ethos is reflected in every aspect of the business, from individualized repair evaluations to honest, transparent recommendations tailored to each customer’s needs. GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY
Grove Street Auto Repair’s impact extends well beyond its business operations. The team actively supports local youth sports, school programs, and numerous area charities, forging relationships early on with The Franklin Food Pantry and The Santa Foundation, as well as participation in the nationwide Brakes for Breasts campaign. For the past nine years, Grove Street Auto Repair has offered free brake pads for the entire month of October, donating the equivalent cost to the Cleveland Clinic for breast cancer research. This cause is significant to the Weidman family, as Patrick’s mother battled breast cancer twice. Their third shop, Shoveltown Auto Repair in Easton, MA, opened in February, and they have been hard at work renovating it and building their customer base using the Grove Street Auto method of excellent customer service and quality repairs. As Grove Street Auto Repair continues to grow, its influence on the community grows with it, proving that small businesses can make a big difference, one step at a time.
